Ipswich Ladies Regional Results 

Ipswich Ladies attended the Eastern Region Volleyball Series for the second time in the season. The first tournament of the season saw two teams of Ladies make their way to the UEA Sports Centre in Norwich and represent Ipswich. One team finished the day in the top spot and the other in the bottom. 

Ipswich Ladies has to take on Norwich Spikers, Stowmarket Aces, Cambridge Panthers. 

The ladies started off with a close game against Norwich Spikers, unfortunatly loosing out by a single point 37 – 36. To progress to the higher league from pool stages Ipswich would need results against Stow and Cambridge. The ladies did just that and beat Stow Aces 37 – 34 and then Cambridge Panthers 42 – 32. 

The ladies faced a playoff against Norwich’s ‘is it in’ for a chance to play off for 1st or 2nd position. A close game saw ‘is it in’ victorious 39 – 34 who progressed to play in the final. Ipswich would get a playoff for 3rd or 4th position against Norwich Spikers who had already beaten Ipswich by a single point. 

Ipswich Ladies put up a fight against Norwich Spikers, but this time showing what they are capable of, the ladies had a convincing win 44 – 36. 

MVPs were awarded for each match, Iza picking up 2, Julia, Kasia and Pavla picking up 1 each.

Double trouble for ladies 

The 2017/18 Eastern Region volleyball series begins this weekend on Sunday 8th October. The Ipswich ladies will be hoping to come home with gold and silver placings, as the club has two ladies teams entered into this months tournament. With the Ipswich Men’s team also entered a total of 18 players will be making the journey early on Sunday morning, this is certainly a recent club record. Keep an eye out for results from the tournament and hopefully plenty of photos.
